Southern Tier Iniquity

Southern Tier IniquitySouthern Tier’s Iniquity is a deep, dark trouble-making brew. Don’t take our word for it; the brewery says they named it for the opposite of goodness. “Allow the darkness to consume you,” they say. And at 9% ABV that’s a distinct possibility! It’s got a heavy chocolate and hoppy aroma and tastes like thick coffee with a kick. If this is bad, we don’t want to be good.

Breckenridge Lucky U

Breckenridge Lucky U is an American IPA with 7 types of hops and 4 types of wheat. (Is it time for rabbit jokes?) Per the brewers “…the result is a well-balanced, soulful IPA with just the right amount of hoppiness. An even keeled ale that goes down clean and refreshing, but still lets you know it’s been doted on by the Brewmaster. It’s true to it’s (sic) IPA heritage, but also highly drinkable.” (Yes, even brewers have trouble with it’s and its.) The Breckenridge Brewery was founding in 1990, Breckenridge, CO by Richard Squire who took his love of skiing and brewing to a new height. (pun intended)

Three Floyds Alpha King

This is 3 Floyd’s flagship beer. Alpha King is a big American pale ale that pours a deep amber with a creamy head. This ale is brewed with Centennial, Cascade, and Warrior hops giving it an intense citrus aroma and a crisp hoppy finish. Three Floyds is a small Artisinal craft brewery located in Munster, In.” Three Floyds has been a favorite in past AlphaBeers. Three Floyds was founded in 1996 by brothers Nick and Simon with their father Mike Floyd. The originally brewery was in Hammond, IN, but moved to Munster, IN in 2000.

Stone IPA

Stone Brewing Co. is known for its Arrogant Bastard Ale, but this time we’re going with Stone IPA (as in India Pale Ale). It’s highly hopped and high in alcohol at an ABV of 6.9%. It has a medium malt character with a heavy dose of over the top hops. Stone Brewing Co. was founded in 1996 by Greg Koch and Steve Wagner in San Marcos, CA. In 2005 they moved to Escondido, CA, but are planning to add facilities in Europe.

Pyramid Haywire Hefeweizen

Pyramid Haywire HefeweizenPyramid Breweries Haywire Hefeweizen is an American style wheat beer. Typically that means that, unlike German hefeweizens, you won’t get a whole lot of banana and clove. Here’s what the brewery has to say about Haywire:

The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.
