This is one of Poland’s biggest selling and favorite beers. The brewery is in the Carpathian mountains of Silesia and was founded in 1852 by Archduke Albert, Duke of Teschen with his younger brother Karl Ferdinand, Archduke of Austria. Zywiec is a light pilsner, but is brewed to 5.6% ABV, slightly stronger than most premium lagers. The pronunciation is zyeh-VEE-chay.
